Re: Guadiana Market (Esuri shop)
Hi Jur
ANY new business idea for Esuri would be welcome, whether another resto/bar etc. or a new business like bikes.
As you know there are guided walking tours called striders and strollers that seem to be doing OK... so general bicycle hire with also some guided tours of some beautiful areas may be a good idea.. Especially if you can take people by car to the all the areas and natural parks surrounding us. Inland and on the coast in 2 countries.
I dont know however what the business plan would be relating to long periods in low season where you wont get a lot of customers.
Re the shop - run by a super guy called Jose Manuel and we really enjoy having a beer on the terrace there - its 2.25 for a big bottle 1 litre - cheaper than anywhere else (in a bar) and you often get a good crowd there, and great views. Also if people are prepared to pay a suplement to have the convenience of something local for the last minute stuff, and saving a trip into town.... why not?
Good luck, Jur if you decide on this venture - the more businesses on Esuri - the better!

We arent big cyclists, so for us personally we would prefer a 1 day option. We have so much to do here that committing to cycle for 3 days FOR US personally would be too much....
However I do think a good idea is the escorted tours - as mentioned above, but also thinking about it - renting out a bike carrier... everyone has a car rental, and if you can take a couple of bikes somewhere nice for a ride that would be good. If you had leaflets of interesting rides, people could pick a few over the 3 days and make the most of our great area...
Just an idea, as I say we arent big cyclists....
Good luck

Quite a few of us here on Esuri have our own bikes and don't bother with carriers as, if you put your rear seats down, they fit ok. Of course it does depend on the size of your car. Having said that I think bike hire would be good for those who don't own their own. A good place to cycle is from Canella Golf to Canella Beach, along the front to Punta del Moral, stop for refreshment and cycle back. Through the Pines between VR and Monte Gordo is another good ride plus the salt flats between Cabanas and Tavira. Regards Bryony

It might be interesting to organise a bike tour somewhere in September. You can be in the supportcar handing over beers to thirsty "cyclists" !!
