don't think it can be easy to grow rhubarb here as I have only seen it once in 8 years. The cost was 10 euros for 3 sticks, you can get frozen rhubarb in Iceland if you have one near you.

Just a thought but Iceland now do fresh fruit and veg - maybe they do Rhubarb now - it would be a big seller.

Worth a phone call to your nearest store.

It can normally be harvested all summer, but there are ways to "force" it to harvest earlier in Spring time.

my father grew it, had several crowns of the stuff, used to give it away to friends as stalks and as crowns.
Remember he used to pull the stalks off, chop the leaves off with sharp knife and wrap them in a leaf or two, tying up with a piece of string.
ISTR my sister and I were kept "regular" by the stuff

Seemed to be almost indestructible - in the uk.

memories........

it may "bolt" trying to reach for the sun, the big leaves provide some protection from the sun.

It's not a lot cooler inside - maybe 2 degrees or so. At night it will probably be warmer.

You really can't win! If you are bad with plants don't bother - rhubarb would be a real challenge.
