Last evening we saw what can only be described as a localised swarm of greenish flies. I'd say that they were just over 1cm in size and looked more like a mosquito than say a house fly. Never seen such things in all the years we've been coming to Spain.
They seemed to be more attracted to our white garden wall than anything else specific. Some were hovering, but most just attached themselves to the wall.
They vanished upon spraying them.
Just wondering what they were. Has anyone else seen such greenish things that look a bit like mozzies?

Thanks for the reply. I think I've seen the flying insect you point to, but I don't think it was those - these were a bit smaller. TBH we were on our way out. If I'd had time I would have taken a photo. So we just sprayed them - haven't seen them since but it was certainly a swarm. They definitely were a mozzie shape with fairly long legs.

They sound like Lacewings, quite harmless and don't bite.
