Hows yours going then?
Had any fun things go on?
Been anywhere nice?
I'm sat on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and not very well at all so I am really jealous of anyone who has actually done anything this weekend!

One car in Ikea was parked perfectly straight, but still managed to be straddled across not 2, not 3, but four parking spaces.

We saw people on three separate occasions drive on the wrong side of the road attempting to drive the wrong way into the exit of a multi-storey car park.

One driver had very neatly driven forward into a parking space next to another car, but had unfortunately turned in some two feet to soon, and had literally "fused" the rear wheel arch of his car into the rear corner of the other. Even I couldn't see how they would get the two cars apart without a great deal of additional scraping!

Oh, and they've gone and put of all things ROUNDABOUTS into the car park. Honestly, they can't handle roundabouts at the best of times, but add them to a car park and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that go the wrong way, try to cut the corner, etc. And whenever it gets busy (i.e. more than 100 cars), they have to station a policeman on each roundabout in order to direct traffic!

They also have what I thought was a British syndrome of "gotta-park-near-the-entrance-itis". So in a car park with 50,000 empty spaces just 4 seconds walk away, we saw two women attempting to reverse a high-top van into a space I wouldn't attempt to put a Ford Ka into. I counted a 17 point turn before we went around the corner, and half expected them to still be at it when we came back with a full shopping trolley.

So, all-in-all a quiet day. Hope you're feeling better soon...

Hey there Sarah!
Why don't you join us? If you can, that is.
We said we'd be going down there between 2 & 3pm, but I think we will be going earlier, because we want to leave before it gets dark. Our ride turns into a pumpkin at about 5pm
.....no seriously once the sun is gone, it's just too cold to be riding for us old folk
That reminds me, have to speak to Mitzy and see if they can get there earlier

Well I had the most fantastic weekend
My brother and his wife came on Friday for the weekend and this is what we did.
FRIDAY...
Went down to a beautiful beach bar in Praia Verde (Portugal) and sat in the sun drinking beer. Then we cam back to Ayamonte and ate tapas which was delicious, and had more beer and wine.
SATURDAY...
Slobbed around the garden which is a real sun trap for most of the day. Saturday night was party night, so went to Ayamonte where our friends who own a Portuguese restaurant but on a fab buffet for us all, and ended up rat arsed!
SUNDAY...
Had the most horrendous hangover in the morning, but we decided we couldnt fester indoors when the weather was beautiful, and they have gone home this morning so didnt want to waste a day. So we drove to Olhao in Portugal and got a boat taxi across to a little island called Armona. Its the first time I have been there and for those of you that live near the Spain/Portugal border I strongly recommend it. What an amazing day
Then we went for a meal to finish off our perfect weekend.
I am soooooo sad the weekends over, but I need to dry out for a few days now

I had a hectic weekend and my brain is frazzled with talking/listening to Spanish most of the time
after coffee Saturday with the BE lot I went to meet hubby and son for lunch - then straight to watch football match then onto friends to see their new baby - beautiful

sunday we had a football presentation for my sons team - although he is out of action at the mo we still go along to the games and stuff, after the presentation we headed straight for the restaurant and ate a 15 course lunch !!!!!! came home totally stuffed and fell asleep

so had a lot of Spanish practice (soooo need to learn more) all through the weekend
