Default Golf membership

Been looking at golf membership around Alicante and south, had a couple of prices and they seem to be around 2500 pounds a couple per annum,is this the norm for SpainI thought with the state of the economy it would be cheaper to entice new members.

In spain if they dont get enough people at a certain price then they put it up even higher, they dont seemed to have grasped the fact that if you make things cheaper you will get more users and therefore make more money.

Hi, my wife and I have been members at Alenda for 5 years now. In contrast to previous comment, prices have reduced significantly during that time. At the moment a family membership which is couple and 2 kids (still the best price option as a couple) is 1850 euros per annum or a bit more expensive monthly at €165. Unfortunately they have now introduced a joining fee of 560 euros for new members. On top of that you must pay 5 euros each per round. I prefer Alenda as there is also a gym however very close is Font del Llop which is a very contrasting course. I believe they may be slightly cheaper and also have an option to pay a little more annually but no green fee on top. Hopefully you'll have the chance to check out a some of the many Alicante courses and chose one suitable near to your home.I'm presuming you live in Spain permanently but, if not, many courses offer 3 or 6 month options. Good luck and enjoy your golf!

Thanks for the comment on Alenda, have played it but it is a little too far for us to play regular.

Recently heard Campomor was 4000€.

Golf has never been cheap here. There are some outfits offering discounted green fees if you google.
