Does anyone know if the newly-approved law for the end of the Golden Visa has been published yet? And what the termination date is? There are conflicting reports whether it is 3 months, or 20 days, from publication in the official gazette. Any insight much appreciated.

The last thing I read (sorry can't remember where) said it was still being discussed and it might not stop altogether - it might still be an option if you are starting a business but property purchases will be excluded.

It went through twists and turns, but the law got final approval about 10 days ago. It's happening. The question is now "when"? The law needs to be published in the official register, and then comes into effect a certain time after that date.

The questions are thus: has it been published, and what's the effective date?

One news report said it's effective 31 December. I think that's wrong but hoping someone knows the definitive answer.

The key point is that any application submitted before the cutoff will still go through.

The bill has been published today and the Golden Visa (for property) will cease on April 3rd.

No, it didn’t make a huge difference but it was a very easy way to get a very flexible visa. €500k was a small price to pay for it.
