Im going to be in Gib soon, need to be through the frontier early on a Monday morning to be in Main Street just after 9. Im probably going to go in October so what sort of time do I need to get to the fontier to avoid the mass queues?

Queue could be anything from 2 minutes, to an hour, so take something to read incaes its the former!
I would suggest to be at the border for 8, as long as you know where you are going to park once inside.
However personally, I would park in La Linea and walk across.

?Be careful leaving the car at Morissons, there is a 2 hour limit for shoppers only, and they are clamp happy!
I would park in the ICC for convenience, or up near kings bastion for the other end of the high street.

I was clamped after 3 hours, rang the number on the ticket, a guy turned up within 2 minutes and looked at the Morrison's bill and unclamped us and apologised for any inconvenience.

Well you were lucky, when we called the number the guy turned up and we had to pay him even though we had a huge Morrisons bill. It took a letter to head office in London which was then forwarded to Morrisons Gib manager who then refunded the money. Evidently all you need to do is to move the car to another position in the car park and you are OK.
