With mediterranean sunshine and 6 beaches why are not more Brits moving to Gibraltar? Perhaps it has been answered in the Gibraltar 2 thread but reading 133 pages is just too much. Perhaps there should there be a Gibraltar forum section?

It's expensive to buy an apartment in Gib. There seem to be loads of new apartments being built on the eastern side not far from the (now demolished) Caleta Palace hotel but they look cramped and very high rise.
Both Worlds have a percentage of apartments at lower prices for over 55s I believe.
Most people live in or around La Linea because it's cheaper.
PS. We are very frequent visitors to Gibraltar and really like it.

Thanks for putting me straight. I made the mistake of comparing the population density and property prices with Brighton not with Spain. Have property prices in Spain decreased in view that so many Brits have left or are leaving? In Lagos (Portugal) they are building like made and the prices have gone through the roof.

In our area of Portugal (inland Castro Marim) properties are selling well too.

I'm no sailor but the chances of 2 systems malfunctioning at the same time seems a bit remote.

I wonder if there would be so much noise about it if the vessel had been carrying something or someone to harm Gibraltar? The Spanish shouldn't have been in those waters but the article doesn't state where they first spotted the vessel travelling without navigational lights or AIS or how far into the territorial waters they were. If the ghost vessel was in Spanish waters when they were spotted then they would have been doing their neighbours a favour.

The vessel was a port tender used for supplying ships at anchor in Gibraltar waters.
Any suspicions about the vessel should have been communicated to the Gibraltar authorities.
