I am glad he is doing his job and just not sitting in the a/c in his shack.

No, but this is the first time I have been made aware that Spain are employing Frontex to replace their own border staff

No checks were carried out when my friend returned on foot to Spain later in the night

Meanwhile the rush hour vehicle queue went on till well after ten last night

That is called facial recognition software being deployed - saving time and money unnecessary checking someone who has already been checked.

They saw him coming a mile away. :)

And you are 100% on that? With new facial recognition software a check can be made without you even noticing. Just ask Mercadonna who were just find €2,5 million for using it in their Spanish supermarkets.

Facial recognition isn’t every effective while covid is knocking about. People have and will be wearing masks for years.

Wrong. If you can unlock your iphone with a mask on the flics can determine who you are.

Wrong. Just put a mask on right then to unlock my brand new I phone 12 through facial recognition and guess what…it didn’t work. Covers up half of your face no wonder.

Yeah, sorry about that, it seems you need an apple watch also. Misleading headline...

Does anyone know what the requirements are for entering Gibraltar by road from Spain for a short stay? Plenty of info regarding flying in or by road as a day tripper but I can’t find anything about a short stay.

Pedantic I know, but there is no such thing as an illegal asylum seeker. There are asylum seekers (not yet processed), there are failed asylum seekers (processed and rejected), and there are those who have successfully claimed asylum, who we can call immigrants.

Words matter.

Yesterday Gibraltar welcomed it's first cruise liner since the start of the covid pandemic.
