You need to have booked the track and trace package to plus have a a negative pcr test in the last 72 hours to return to the uk. They are not even letting you board from Spain if you don’t have all these documents to prove it. They are being really strict on their checks both in Spain and the uk. Loads of extra border force officers uk side. My advice if your in the uk and want to travel is to wait because it really isn’t worth going at the moment. Plus you have to wear a face nappy constantly in the street.

Ref. Gibraltar, someone yesterday mentioned that you can untested get on a flight in covid infected UK to fly to covid free Gib where you will be tested
However on return you will be tested in covid free Gib to enter covid infected UK

There is also the possibility that on testing on entering Gib you may be refused entry.

For those that are prepared to break the rules there could be a similar situation arising in Malta. That is,if the UK Govn.could make up it,s mind whether that country is on the Green list or not. There are quite a few ferry sailings between Italy & Sicily each week.Nothing to stop British people resident in Italy from making a diversion on route to UK is there?

Travel

Any traveller arriving in Malta from any of the countries listed in the Travel Ban (Extension to all Countries) Order (S.L. 465.26), is required to present a negative PCR COVID-19 test performed no longer than seventy-two (72) hours before arrival in Malta. Travellers arriving in Malta from any of the said countries, who fail to produce a negative PCR COVID -19 test, will be subject to mandatory testing in Malta or mandatory quarantine.
Italy is on the list.

That's because it works.

No. You have to declare on your locator form that you have been in Spain within the last 10 days, which will trigger home quarantine, unless of course you return to Gibraltar, stay for 10 days before flying back. Telling lies on locator form is a criminal offence, punishable up to 10 years in jail.

Thanks. That doesnt sound too bad, as I have no problem with spending 10 days in Gib, and it’s a lot better than suffering the quarantine in the UK

You seem to like the word moronic, but perhaps dont use it at the correct times. When I asked about going to Spain via Gib, I understood that the border between those two countries was open , and am not the kind of person would “ sneak into Spain” like someone on the run. I had both jabs back in Jan and Feb and have weekly covid tests, so I think there’s little possibility of my causing any problems. If I wanted to sneak into Spain, I could do it very easily by going there legitimately going to put one of my portfolios of properties on the market, but then dont actually do anything.

I once started planning for a trip to the Falklands but the good lady wasn't keen

However in 1982 here in Gib I witnessed a lot of troop movements.

If proof was needed that the Spanish Government are nothing but a pathetic bunch of liars one had only to observe the Gibraltar frontier today.

The Spanish Government says there has not been a change of policy at the frontier, despite longer than normal queues for much of Friday.
https://www.gbc.gi/news/no-change-po...-normal-queues

Luckily I had a "Get Out of Gib Quick Letter" today but the return journey was tedious.

Ah, so stamping is now in full force on non-EU passports. Wonder how UK passport holders with ES residency card are treated.

The long term view from this frontier in respect of Spanish officials is BADLY

I crossed into Spain last Friday showing only my ID card and was forcibly informed that next time I must also present my passport which was in the car but $^%k them.

I spoke to a Spaniard this lunch time and asked if she had to show her passport, the answer was no only ID card
This lady obtained a Spanish passport shortly after the referendum just in case

Mind you I did also indicate to this lady that in a couple of weeks the Guardia will get fed up of having to perform such hard work and things may begin to slip back.
