Hi
The mini train travels between Isla Canela & Punta De Moral every 30 mins. if you don't fancy the walk

It's a fair old walk from Mirador to the bus station to catch a bus to Canela - you might take a taxi just to the bus station, although it's probably as easy to go all the way by taxi they are not expensive. If you were going to be beaching every day then it would add up and might warrant having a hire car.
Actually, the nearest beach to the Mirador, if you decided to walk, is probably in Portugal. Walk down to the ferry, take the ferry across to Villa Real and then walk to the beach. It's maybe 4Kms on the flat in total but quite doable if you enjoy walking (although I wouldn't attempt in the middle of the day in summer

Thanks v much for your reply macro, the information leaflet is very handy and just what I need, not too confident driving at the moment so the world is a new less accessible place just now. But thanks again for the tips, its all a bit of an adventure.

Cheers Mike, yes remember the ferry nice little excursion but as you say may be a long walk to beach in the sun ,may just stick to a long lunch over there. Take advantage of not having to drive !! beer:

Doesn't the 'normal' bus service go directly from the parador through town to the beach? If so no stops. I remember we at Esuri always wanted them to extend it to us, but they gave us a separate service instead.

Depending on time of year there are a myriad of options to bus to Canela. The normal service minibus which runs all the way from the Poligono to Punta Moral via town Canela beach, Canela marina and due to the roadworksdoes not complete the circle but returns the same way. We have seen the bendy bus in operation this last week or so from town to Canela the mini train will soon be doing the full route from town. However the nearest to the Mirador would be the minibus at the top by the Parador or the bottom by the ship repair yard.

Thanks to all who have posted, relieved to know we won't be stranded at Mirador and there are buses available from nearby Parador.
Cheers for all the tips.
