Hi All
I wonder if anyone can help
I am considering buying a generator, it is dieel and classified as silent.
The technical notes suggest a decibel rating of 70-74 dBA at 7 metres.
I know there is no such thing as an absolutely silent geni, especially at this level, however, can anyone give me an idea of how quiet this is.
many thanks

Hi Solarwhizz
I have been looking at the Kipor KDE6700TA3, 5.5kva, 400 rated voltage.
It says the noise level is around 72dBA 7m.
I have a RAS 6500 petrol generator already in place but this is pretty noisy and would like to replace it, but not if the noise difference is insignificant.
Further the RAS has a pull start and some ladies find it difficult to start, an electric start would therefore be much easier.
As to where I am getting it from I have been considering a company in the UK called Peak Generators and then shipping it over.
We are located in Chiclana de la Frontera and have basically given up on getting electricity, we will make a decision at the end of May with a view to installing solar power and the generator will then just act as back up.

Try Global Wholesale on EBay or NW tractors for better after sales service,
or
http://www.nwtractors.co.uk/shop/ind...dbdfe1a3cf97ba
Spanish sales try www.solar-sky.com
The 6700 range has been having problems with starter motors of late, so try to get one thrown in as a freebie, you will find it is a long wait for a guarantee item replacement from the UK!!!!
