Default general advice

Hi

Im a 26 year old carpenter who is thinking of moving to spain. I am seeking some employment advice or any other advice that can be offered.

How is the construction industry is spain and are there many jobs available??

how much would rent be on a small one bed, city centre flat?

Where would the best place to settle for a young single male seeking work??

thanks

alex

Welcome; prepare yourself for other posts by just running a search through existing threads - jobs, advice, employment, carpenters, etc., see what you come up with. Probably a fair amount, though I admit although everyone talks about it I've never searched those particular keywords!

Construction industry - consensus is cr*p at the moment. Jobs - well not the best time; someone'll tell you the unemployment figure, but I'm pretty sure it's higher than the UK. Certainly worst in Andalucia.
Whereabouts are you thinking & why? Do you speak fluent Spanish? Have you got a couple of years' worth of rent/living expenses/medical insurance etc in the bank?

unemployment at around 20% nationwide

around 40% of under 25s unemployed nationwide

construction industry more or less at a standstill nationwide
