Free to go shopping
During the shut down now in force we can all go out to buy necessary food.I was in Lidl today & collected up my items in a shopping bag from home to go to the checkout. My thought for this was, just how many hands have been on the handle of a shopping trolley,in any supermarket.I did see the empty shelves being washed down but when are the trollies ever given the same treatment? There must be hundreds of similar examples like petrol pump handles or opening the door to a Health Clinic.

It would actually be sensible to provide it as you leave the store as well. Sanitiser gives no long term protection, it just kills what you already have on your hands.

Dialprix supermarket in Benidorm will only allow about 10 shoppers in at once then 1 out, 1 in. There is a fella on the door giving out rubber gloves as you enter.
The Farmacia is only allowing 1 out, 1 in and the people are queuing at 3 feet apart.
A bit of a ghost town here in Benidorm at the moment.

Eroski in Gibraltar have a shopping trolley full of disposable gloves at their entrance for everyone to help themselves

Same in Abruzzo, sanitiser sometimes provided but always gloves. We have our own supply of gloves-and use them.

If you can, they seem to be in as short supply as hand sanitizer.
Normally I'd buy them from a China Merca but they are all closed around here.

I presume it's OK to ride my bike to the supermarket?
Are you going to your nearest supermarket or another further away for whatever reason? We have a Dia in the village which I never go to preferring Aldi and Mercadona in the next town about 7km distant.

Personally if DIA stocked what I need that would do for me. However surely how you get to the shop you need isn't defined be it walking driving or cycling? Tandem for you and your wife could be an issue as my understanding only one of you should be out shopping?

I'm angling for an excuse for a bike ride. A 14km round trip to Aldi isn't enough but better than the 2km there and back to Dia!
