This is an anonymous forum where people who opt to come onto it must do so in the knowledge that they are going to encounter people they may not agree with or whatever. Imagine a pub where there's a loudmouth in the corner who was bothering you - you could go and engage in conversation with him and probably end up more wound up than before OR you could choose to ignore that person and carry on chatting with your mates at the bar. This is pretty much the same thing.
A forum attracts different personalities, different senses of humour, different opinions. If you're not equipped to deal with that then a forum is prbably not the best way to go.

BTW your encounter with Ray should serve as a lesson as he simply dropped the bait and you bit. WUMs (wind up merchants) are everywhere in cyberspace forums, the trick is recognising them, play them at their own game if you want - you might get a bit more respect - but biting the bait left by a WUM means there will be one winner.

Perhaps I just like a bit of a row with someone thats not my other half!!

Re: Forum behaviour

There obviously will be many different types of people on this forum, not only the WUMs but also the the ones who set them up. Usually WUMs don't even see themselves as being set up. Part of my old job was having to deal with industrial relations, I met many WUMs in my time, the strange thing is that they rarely have anything to offer only hot air and confrontation.
Please don't waste your time, I have had to many times in my working past and believe me my life is not the better for it.

Oh yes I'd agree there ;)

Particularly nice timing Ray, in view of the fact this thread was started because one of ours has just suddenly departed this life

I never knew him ...thousands die every day ....Did you know the guy personally ....

Perhaps there the difference...seems few of you have seen death
and mayhem in your life ..

Yes I did know him personally, having helped him when he came here looking for property.

Your second comment ... well ... thats a hell of an assumption isn't it!

Then of course if you knew him by mean other than pixels ..I can understand
you concerns ..but I do struggle to know why you had to annouce his method of death.. a simple he died ..saving the sensitive of hand wringing
worry if they has ever said the wrong thing ..

My assumption..maybe ..

Not exactly, no. When the Jonsol RIP thread got sidetracked, I suggested we move out to a different thread. I started a new one starting off with a summary of what had been said in the sidetrack then about an hour later Mitzyboy kindly removed those threads starting with yours from Jonsol RIP to here. Which is why my original post, now number 8 or something looks out of place as I effectively summed up everything that could be seen just above!!!!

As you don't care about anyone on here, then why should you care! :)

Tell people someone has died, they are going to ask what happened. I don't see the point of lying. Tell it as it is .... right?

No ones going to be hand wringing on here ..... they aint said anything that could have been the wrong thing .... some on the forums do, but hey, thats for their consciences ;):D

please do...they'd only be half a dozen of you in it and the rest of us can get on with reality.
