Can anyone explain what this is please? I understand it is to do with new build properties and the SUMA office

Many thanks

Well IBI is like your rates .... so you'd get the form presumably from your town hall and complete it accordingly

Us ....... they just sent us a bill, €400 for the year

Thanks Mitzyboy, know what IBI is (and have been paying for past 5 years) , it's just that friends who have a new build are asking about Form 092 - something to do with when the developer hands over property to Ayuntamineto?

Ahh OK ..... well ours was a newbuild but obviously our builder must have handed it over at the finalisation of the build

Yes our friends have owned (and paid Wealth Tax as Non residents!!) for 3 years on a MASA built urbanisation with all the associated problems – intermittent electric/water/no rubbish collection - only skips and were being told by the Town Hall that they were living illegally and it was lucky that they weren’t being kicked out for not having their cedulas!

Now they have their cedulas and have been presented with three years back payment of IBI!!!!

And it’s all down to this blo*dy form! Can anyone clarify what Form 092 is?

Thanks again for your input

Are you sure it's not a 902 which I think registers the property with the Town Hall.

I'm with Sonny. AFAIK there is no Form 092.
Form 902 is what the developer would have used to register the newly built property with SUMA. I'm guessing that has now been done and so the IBI can be calculated and of course has to be paid retrospectively.

I know of people on this estate that have not had their cedulas after 5 or 6 years and are still on builders electricity. They are still paying their council taxes though, not sure how thats worked

We found that all our tax problems/queries were simply solved by appointing a gestor to explain/deal with things on our behalf ... our builders were also exceptionally slow in issuing a cedula amongst other things and we had a lot of trouble getting the IBI sorted! Gestors needn't be expensive and provide a useful service, plus peace of mind.
