Finding work before leaving England...
How do!
Just wondering if anyone has any good websites or phone numbers for job listings before leaving England...
I did contact someone about a long term rental of a property but obviously could do with knowing that I have work before finalising this....

I don't think you're going to get much encouraging advice as there is a severe crisis here. Coming on a wing and a prayer is ok if you have some savings to live on for what maybe a long time.

It was, apologies!
I would be looking for an English speaking area to begin, anywhere on the Costa Del Sol and ideally as a chef [as i am now] or bar work [which I have done previously, and would love to get back into]
I know I could get a holiday apartment for a little while and if I don't find work while i'm there I can always just leave it as a nice holiday and return home but I am trying to look into finding some work before leaving so I can find a long term rental straight away once I arrive.

Re: Finding work before leaving England...
As people said in the last thread about this subject your best bet is to go to the area you want to work in (Costa Del Sol west of Malaga) and ask. I am not saying it is impossible to find a job from the UK, but there are so many expats and Spanish needing work that bar or restaurant owners are not having to look hard (or offer much) to find staff.
If you want to try from the UK then use the old fashioned method of searching out hotels etc online and sending them your CV. Good luck

It is worth remembering that in Andalucia 1 person in 4 is out of work and they almost all have fluent Spanish.
Spain is not the best place to try and find a job - especially if you are not actually here.
It may not be what you want to hear but it is the cold reality of life in Spain at present.

Sometimes has chefs jobs, but if you go down that route you should make sure you get a contract as some form of security. As for getting a holiday apartment, they can be very expensive, long term rentals are much cheaper, but obviously you dont want to sign up for one unless you know you can work. The best thing is to come out for a holiday and have a look for work with an option to maybe stay if you find something??? But DONT BURN ANY BRIDGES IN THE UK!

Yes, I think at my age, I'd have to pay to work for an escort agency lol
There are chefs jobs around, but I dont know how secure they are, but if the OP is single and has no commitments, he might as well give it a go. As long as he has somewhere to go back to until he's fully "in"!!!
