Don`t know how far away the shop is, but pop there and read a can there, then get the solvent, if the vinny doesn`t work.

Too far unfortunately. Not tried the vinegar yet as he is sat there with his hands plastered in Vaseline, latex gloves to keep it on and to let it penetrate. When he takes this off he will try the vinegar.

Had not thought of them at all and yet is is normally the first thing that I try on my hands if I get anything stubborn on them.

I am not thinking clearly obviously.

This can't be a pretty sight

In a garage I worked at you washed your hands with this stuff, they had a massive barrel of soapy stuff with lots of sand in it. Rubbing your hands together with that got every bit of dirt and oil off, that would work so try some washing up liquid with lots of sand and rub hard... bit like matts idea.

Thanks for that. I have removed it with vaseline and vim, I now have the softest hands in the world.
