yesterday evening after dinner it just came down vertically like the monsoons, lightening, thunder.
hasnt stoppped all night, thunder and lightening at about 5am with some more at 7.45
can't see the 1900m asl mountain above us, the cloud is like high fog in the streets

but there doesnt appear to be a speck of dust on the car parked outside on the road

oh well I still have the sangria left of the three

There you are you see, every cloud has a silver lining.
No need to wash your car and just think what it must be doing for your olives.

Not been quite so bad here with just the odd shower from time to time, not really heavy and most of the time it's ok to be out and about.

Even caught a glimpse of the Sun yesterday and again this morning.

I'm just hoping the weather is not going to follow the same pattern as in the winters of 2009 and 2010.
I reckon we've already had as much rain as the whole of last winter.

Look on the bright side, it could be worse, it could be snow.

Just think about all those poor sods living inland on the high ground, probably much of the population, who get it much of the Winter.

That's much what a Spanish friend was telling me in an e-mail yesterday. And then he asks when when are we coming out!

Creo hemos recogido en ******* desde el inicio del curso pluvial 2012 ( se cuenta desde mitad setiembre ), aprox. 350,00 litros x M2. Es una cifra excelente, más que el total del 2011/2012)

You must have forgot to read the small print.

Apart from tomorrow which looks half decent, rain is forcast here for the next ten days !

It must be moving up from here then, after today there is only sun on the 5 day forecast - thank goodness! We have had thunder and lightning all night as well, with torrential rain.

I know we've had as much or more rain so far this winter as we did in the whole of the last one, because I've already used my tumble dryer more this year!

There will be at least a few days when you can call the UK and say "I'm in me shorts"

The Canarias aren't immune either - parts of Tenerife were flooded yesterday.

I would kill for a tumble dryer ... All my clothes are covered in mud from trying to retrieve vegetables from the huerto (which now resembles a paddy field), and I've got nowhere to dry them!

I didn't have one for the first 3 years we lived here, and used to think people were daft who did, unless they lived in an apartment and didn't have anywhere to dry their washing. Then the winter of 2009/10 arrived - and I had to go out and buy a tumble dryer on 26 December. It got plenty of use that year and the following winter, but wasn't used once last winter as far as I recall. I still don't like washing dried that way, but sometimes you just have no choice!

segundamano.es

I've seen them for as little as €20.

I wouldn't resort to one in England, so I'm certainly not going to buy a one here, come hell or high water.
