Default Estepona Video

Hi all,

Some may remember ive been posting video blogs in the past of the first days of me emmigrating to Spain.
I was up till like 3am last night editing a video together just showing some sights of Estepona on the Costa Del Sol where I have ended up settling. Im really getting into this video malarky. But have a look, tell me what you think.
Estepona is a lovely place. More traditionally spanish.

Hehe geeze teh quality is crap. Coz to make it small enough for youtube i had to compress it quite heavily and then youtube messes it up even more. The full 200meg DVD quality version is far better!

Im just using a sony mini dv cam. Then firewired it into the laptop.

Yeah the vid quality is shaky but the camera seems to be good at picking up detail and fast action bits.

Downloadable version is on http://www.onlineamiga.co.uk/downloads

The music is Shakira Las de Intuicion. Was number 1 in spain for weeks on end. And its still played a lot on the radio and in bars and stuff. I was totally hooked on the track so it just had to go in there.

Yeah its a good track, her voice isn't too wobbly in it.

Show off!

I'm a bit of a techno idiot at times. I've got a Sony camcorder but it records onto little mini tapes. I don't suppose that can be loaded onto a computer can it? At the mo I just plug it into the TV and watch it there.

How's the job going by the way? Are you still at the same place?

You should have got a usb or firewire lead and software with the camera. Very easy to do.

Yes, I have a firewire. Is it just as simple as plug it in and hit the record button?

If you have the Sony software that came with the camera, then yes it should be!
If you don't have the software or the driver for the camera, you may need to download them from the Sony website.
Be Aware that video captured like this from the camera can take up a lot of space on your pc. Also issues publishing it on the net, depending on your internet connection. A wired Telefonica connection will be fine, but a shared or piggy back wi-fi connection could be a nightmare.

Tim
