Would have been nice to record it on FilmOn and watch it when you get up tomorrow morning. OH NO YOU CAN'T

(Where's that Yawn smiley?)
Having discovered that I do have Nitro on my box after all, I dragged myself out of bed at some ungodly hour early this morning expecting to watch F1 live.
NADA.........apart from an ancient Benny Hill clip that is.
Thank you very much PL.

So I checked for the other 3 channels that Fredb mentioned.
The only one listed was ANT 3, once again nothing, simply a blank screen.
Either I have no reception or else it is encrypted and a subscription channel.

Can anyone tell me which?

Cool Re: ECJ DECLARE STREAMING BBC/ITV ILLEGAL

Antenna 3 is a normal, free TV channel. I watched the F1 race on there today in full HD. I'm not sure if it is legal but Domino will know

So my TV is only HD ready.
Will that be the reason I have no picture at all or is it more likely a reception issue ?

it will be legal in the country that you were watching it, different country = different broadcasting rights.

see how nice it is to do things legally for a change

It must be a reception issue. Antenna 3 transmits both HD and SD versions.

HD ready is a confusing nomenclature. The thing that determines whether you can receive HD programs is the tuner in the TV. Just because a set is classed as HD doesn't mean it will necessarily have a HD tuner.

considering that most of the Spanish television is available on satellite and also the internet (I am watching Antena 3 whilst typing this) you have so many options, probably with a much smaller antenna than you are currently using

if your TDT has the facility (and most have) you can see the signal strength and if that is good but you have no signal then it should be assumed to be an HD signal. If it is a subscription channel it will tell you.

help ??

Most HD Ready TVs do not have HD tuners - and for HD need a HD external source - like a terrestrial HD box, or a HD satellite box.

HD TVs normally have a built in HD terrestrial tuner.

So trying to watch ant3HD on a HD Ready TV that has no HD terrestrial tuner, will show no images - and maybe an "no video" warning message.

Nitro is operated by the Ant3 Group.
Nitro has live practice sessions, and repeats of other sessions.
Live qualy and the race are on Ant3 and Ant3 HD - their main channel.
But in many areas Ant3 can be one of the weakest signals to receive - which is a different frequency to Ant3HD and Nitro!

so great for learning Spanish, except for one or two weather dollies who gabble as if they are frightened someone will try to get a word in

I for one came out here to learn the language and become part of the scenery - not sit indoors watching UK television
