Default Earwigs

All of a sudden we are getting earwigs in the house, what can you use to get rid of them also to stop them coming in.

Windex spray kills all kinds of critters; ants, cockroaches, centipedes, spiders- whatever! 409 will do it too, but be careful using that around food areas.

Surely there will be a Spanish version? The basis of Windex is ammonia. Maybe to concoct some?

If you have children or pets, forget the ant spray!
Ants don't like peppermint oil or peppermint flakes....maybe earwigs have similar dislikes. Peppermint doesn't kill them just deters them. Meanwhile it makes the house smell good.

I've got kids & pets, and use the spray - carefully of course

I didn't know about the peppermint oil - I'll remember that next year when the ants start plagueing again

I'm amazed how ants know where my food is, I mean I'm in a room with no ants in there then I drop a crumb and an hour later the place is swarming with them

So clever they are! Where my cats eat, there are always crumbs on the floor.....so mopping up ants is routine. My OH says to spray them with soapy water. That works...not as fast as the ammonia-based things..and it also cleans the floor!

I've just checked my can of ant spray - there's a picture of an earwig on it too

Wendy,
Any pesticide containing Bric Acid wil kill earwigs, a safer method is soapy water, spray this around walls of house and in any cracks.
