........or from the final bastion of male superiority and domination, try with "wor lass", which clearly indicates her position in the general scheme of things, much like wor ferret or wor pigeons.

However on special occasions, or when in desperate need of a leg-over the term "pet" may be more appropriate.

I was once out for a meal with my at the time Austrian girlfriend and referred to her as pet, (just trying to be nice like),
Unfortunately she didn't fully appreciate it, spitting a mouthful of food all over the table before screaming, "don't ever call me that, I am not a pet. I am not an animal"

Theres just no pleasing some folk is there.
