I have a KOBO touch E reader, bought in UK.
When I first downloaded desktop, the whole selection was in English. Didn't use it for ages, but then found the desktop selection of books was mostly Spanish. I contacted Kobo support, they said each country is territorial and you can't change the book selection to all English.
Some of you out there must have come across this problem.
Would ex pat shield help?

Firstly, I doubt Expat Shield would help. I presume when you first got your reader you were in the UK and Kobo detected your UK IP address. I've no knowledge of this reader or Kobo but when you signed up for an account did you have to give an address/location of any kind? If not, then it must detect your UK IP address and act accordingly as regards access to its library. When the library was then Spanish, were you then over here in Spain? If so, this again would indicate IP detection.
Back to Expat Shield, as this doesn't change the IP address at the router, I doubt it would work but the only way is to give it a try! After all it works with the BBC iPlayer, but on the PC, not on devices.
I'm sure others who know more about this than me will offer advice.

I think you will be able to choose your books w,wide and download them to your reader. So no IP checking and direct link to your reader.
Note I have never used Calibre, but it looks like a great product. With abilities to manage your books, find the cheapest ones w,wide and convert to your format with some good library management too. Its free as well though if you use it/like it there is a voluntary contribution asked for.
Click on the PC on the top left to see a demo. I hope this works.

Will I be able to use it with a KOBO e reader or do they have exclusive rights?

Hi youve probably checked by now, but this s/w supports many readers, if not done already, have a check on the demo for yours... (Click on the PC on top left).

PS I was curious and googled it http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Calibre-t...ur-Kobo-Reader
Good luck. The only reason I don use this s/w is that I am fine with the 'proprietary' amazon product. I think this just might fix yr problem though and give you additional tools. But I am not 100% sure and I have no commercial connection with the company
