EG, We really do not want to be French, Spanish etc, we want everything we had in the UK and cannot understand why we should not have it.
There are some things that you will lose when you move from the UK.
Its a fact of life, just accept it.

Whats next another petition to force the BBC and ITV to provide Eastenders, Corrie X factor etc.

:rofl::rofl:

Hilarious post..................priceless.

You moan about Brits who move to Spain or France and not wanting to live like French or Spanish people.

I really LOVE the part about if you move from the UK there are some things you will lose, so just accept it.:rofl:

But strange that you don´t say the same about incomers from certain groups who move to the UK.

Incomers to the UK not only want to see programmes from their own country (acceptable, of course) they also want to change the law and have Sharia law, have islamic banking, forced/arranged underage marriages, and hack offending bits of their daughters nether regions.

It puzzles me why you are not saying "just accept it, you are now in the UK, live like the British population, which does not include Sharia law and all that malarky" to the people who want to mould Britain into the county or countries they have left.

I think the incomers to the UK are far more demanding than the Brits who move to Spain or France, don´t you?

Of course I am expecting you to deny it, but even you must admit that this post of yours is one of the GREATEST OWNS GOALS that has ever been seen on BE.:o:o:o:o:o

In fact I think it should be moved to the double standards thread.

No, scrub that, your post deserves to be in a new thread called THE EGG ON FACE / THE OWN GOAL THREAD.

Me Me you have already admitted that you do not read my posts but lets hope for once you do.
I condemn all aspects of Sharia law or the Torah, the bhagavatita ( spelling ) in fact any religious doctrine and the behaviour of those from abroad and from the UK that conflicts with UK criminal law.
Who they worship how they dress etc is of no importance, how they act is.
The problem in the UK is that those we charge with enforcing the law are weak.
If you have no enforcement then abuse increases.
IS that a simple enough statement for you.

It may look that way to you from your distant ivory tower in LA, but maybe the Expats have a point considering they are still British Citizens with numerous connections, interests and often reliance on the UK system of which most are still part.

As mentioned in the link, French expats seem to be adequately considered and catered for in that respect.

Also noticeable that very few Brits ever choose to renounce their British citizenship in favour of a Spanish one, in fact I don't personally know of a single person who has made that choice, though I can't say I'm greatly surprised.

I am still a British citizen.

You have taken this thread way off line. Thats a great shame. Do other European countries use the same format as the UK to elect members to parliament? That is, you have a vote if you are a UK citizen on the electoral register in a constituancy? We are retired and are UK tax payers with a home in the UK which we have let. For the time being we are enjoying time in our home in Spain along with touring other countries in Europe. If we don't go back to the UK to take up residence and sign on the Electoral Register before the next General Election we will not be able to vote for the party we want to spend our taxes. We have never been out of work or claimed anything. This will be the first time we have been unable to vote since we reached voting age. Tax payers should be able to vote for the party they want to spend their money. I welcome the proposal to elect an MP to represent UK taxpayers living abroad.

You can stay on the electoral role for 15 years after leaving UK. There is a special category for this at the town hall where you were last on the electoral role.

I think all American citizens living abroad are required to vote in Senatorial and Presidential elections and they are very keen to do so. They have Republican and Democratic parties abroad and queue at the embassies to register their vote.

More European countries than France allow their citizens to vote in general elections and some like France have dedicated members for expatriate citizens.

How can you be rascist about the Germans, wonderfull people, look at their history , what an example to us all.
The tolerance they showed to their minorities really shows us up.
My father was one of the first english troops who entered Belsen, there but for the grace of god etc.
