Driving in Spain

My wife and I are soon to start a new life in Spain ,
:, our son wants to know if he will be able to drive in Spain on a provisional licence,
with my self or wife in the car like we can do in the uk ,but with (L ) plates. Is there anyone out there that can let us know how he will stand , ( ALCANTE DISTRICT ).

UK provisional licences are not valid outside the UK.
As JDR said, the minimum driving age is 18 so even a full licence is not valid under 18 in Spain.

Only L plates you see on cars here are the green ones which indicate a person that has passed the test within the last year. Driving school cars are the only way you can learn here, and given the way most Spanish drive, that's a good thing.

yes, BUT, if they were learning as well with the quality of many drivers, then all they would learn would be the bad habits, mind you seeing the way some tourists drive in their hire cars, especially round here where the N332 isn't anything like the road it was the last time they were here the tourists are as much to blame
