Driving to spain
Hi All
Just starting to plan the drive down to spain (alpujarra region) any suggestions on route and places to stay would be very welcome.
Driving in a slow 4x4 so trying to avoid toll roads & motorways.
Hoping to stay in B&B along the route
thanks Wiccan

Try Via Michelin...
http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichel...ng_directions#
Click on Route Type: Economical
You can also do a search for B&B on your route.
Best of luck and have a safe journey,
Martha

Oh - and don't be surprised if you are totally ignored when you cross the border from France to Spain. Just keep driving

Re: Driving to spain
Hi,
I'd recommend the viamichelin site, too.
We overnighted at a Formule1 hotel south of Madrid. Simple, clean and inexpensive; fine if all you need to do is arrive late and leave early. This one was a bit tricky to find in the dark, as it was at the back of an industrial estate (very quiet!) Toilets and shower cubicles are located along the corridor. Rooms, with sink and TV, can sleep 3 people. Pets welcome. Breakfast is extra (perhaps 5 euros?), and can be ordered the night before. Snacks via vending machines. Here's the link:

This link was recommended in another thread about taking pets to Spain, so a belated thank you to the person who posted it!
Or, blow the budget and stay at the Parador at Almagro (Castilla/ La Mancha).
Regards,
Carol
