Re: donkeys
Here's Dylan....who's only two years old....but he's huge! He's an Andalucian apparently.
We've had him for over a year now, lived the first year of his life in a cave and never saw the outside world.
We rescued him and gave him a good home on our friend's land a few miles away. Where his best friend is India, who's a Welsh Pit Pony!
We had to get him "done" earlier this year cos he was a bit mad. He demolished his stone stables and generally either wanted to kill people....or bonk them. Or both.
He's lovely now though....still does a few martial arts kicks on the odd occasion, but it's all in good fun!

Re: donkeys
Oh bless, Dylan is a handsome chap
Any chance of a photo of India too? I'm sure Rhiannon wouldn't mind if a Welsh pit pony snuck on here, masquerading as a donkey!
Do any of these donkeys work, or are they enjoying a well deserved retirement - especially poor Dylan, who obviously had such a horrific start to his young life
How did you hear about what was happening to him, Pete?
Fab photos all - keep em coming

Re: donkeys
Hi Sam! I haven't had chance to get over your way soon.....but it's going to happen!
How we found Dylan was that an English woman had bought him (for big money) from some Spaniards who just kept him in a cave,
She couldn't cope.....and his living conditions were no better than when he was in the cave....so we took him on.
That was about 15 months ago, we got his papers (genuine Andalucian Burro born 5/1/2005), renamed him Dylan for cultural reasons, and in Feb he had a little snip to calm him down.
This was taken tonight.....bit of a strange trio....Dylan, India, and Jennifer the pig!

Well, how funny!
Only just 2 minutes ago, I sent you a PM asking whether you'd managed to make your trip or not!
Thanks for putting the photo of the trio on here
Please tell me that poor little Jennifer is safe from the next Matanza!!!???

Re: donkeys
Yes....Jennifer's safe.
The photos were taken over our friends' place where Dylan lives....we couldn't fit him into a 3 bed property on an urbanization.
But we do have the five dogs and a duck there!
We came here with our 3 dogs, and aquired (as you do) 2 more.
If I start going on about any of that, or some of the other rescues, I'll be here all day. But they're usually pretty XTreme involving street riots and jumping into canals!
By the way, our friends have got a zoo licence and have all manner of animals on their land.....from exotic birds to monkeys to wallabies to AlPacas!
