Satandpcguy do you know if we will still recieve terresteral tv channels in the future, ie there are no plans on ITV, BBC1,channel 5 to go to horizontal frequencies in the near future are there do you know? And is ch4+1 due to go off too to the 'H'??
I dont think ITV will go off as it seems more regional variations have been moved onto Vertical. I have had sky over in Benidorm for 5 years now and in all that time ive never been able to recieve ITV Yorkshire but I noticed on kingofsat they now have it on Vertical so the other day I tried it out and voila I can get my regional ITV for the first time.
THoughts?

who knows.....unfortunatly us installers are not privvy to how the channels and astra contracts work..
we do not know where FIVE will go when it goes to astra 2d, be it horizontal or vertical
C4+1 is currently on the V...
BBC1 London is on H
SomeIiTVs are still on H
given that Astra 2d is pretty much full to capacity, some of the pay tv channels will have to move off if any other channels want to go on there....

Is it just FIVE thats meant to be going onto 2D or is it everything that comes with it(five life, fiver, five life +1,fiver +1) do you know?
The Girlfriend is a big fan of Neighbours which is also on fiver as an omnibus i think. if that goes off ill get ear ache!!
When is five due to get moved do you know? This year?

Both Freesat and Five stated a few months ago that it will be just FIVE that will be made available for free....you will need a FREESATFROMSKY card at elast to view Fiver and Five US...http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/index.p...t-with-freesat
it does depend how they do it...
they may move FIVE to Astra 2D, bad news if it goes to a horizontal frequency....
but they may keep Five where it is and keep that verison encrypted, but have a duplicate free FIVE on Astra 2D.
We just do not know apart from a free version of Five will be available in the next few months..
we did not know about C4 moving until some test channels popped up a few weeks before the big move - and things are not OK with them as many in the UK have complained that they have trouble picking up C4 by satellite....
keep an eye on my sites news page and forum as i post channels updates on there when i get them....

Thanks for your help.
So what you mean is that Fiver is looking as though possibly it is staying where it is and we can at least get that in spain if FIVE does move to 'H'?
I have the yellowhouse blue card so will I be ok? Iam a subscriber to sky sports and variety pack(uk goldetc) is that what you mean when you say FREESATFROMSKY ?

FREESATFROMSKY is a card that can be obtained for a oneoff paytment and unlocks FIVE, FIVER, FIVE US, Sky 3.
A Sky Subscription card gets you the subscription channels that you pay for and those that are on a FREESATFROMSKY card also.

Ahh great. Ive added your website to my favourites so i can keep checking.
One thing that baffles me is that the bar I work has Telemicro, and although I would never consider getting this with all the problems it has caused but my quiery is how do they manage to get BBC2 signals to their customers pretty much all day? Do they have a minimum size dish to get this signal all day(ie 3m+)?
