Re: Do Spanish like English Music?
Carlos Santana is Mexican, and the original band was formed in San Fransisco ... the French couldn't be responsible for a sound like that

What a line up I do envy you. Used to go to many concerts when living on the Costa del Sol. Seen Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Elton John, ELO, Status Quo, Supertramp, Prince and Simple Minds and the biggest majority of the audience were Spanish. After seeing Deep Purple in Estepona bullring could not hear for 24 hours!!!
Ah ..... forgot ELO and Supertramp ... always wanted to see Simple Minds but never managed it.
Saw DeepPurple at a small cinema in New Street in Birmingham ... never been beaten up by a wall of sound before.
As you can tell, you've got me on my pet subject

French!
There is a lot of good Spanish "folk" music around (flamenco, gaitero) but their rock and pop are abysmally nondescript.
If you get adverse comment, try playing something in a foreign language to deflect from the English: prog rock Italian stylee from Banco del Mutuo Soccorso or Hungarian stylee from After Crying.

At the last count, I've 24 Santana albums. Been a fan ever since hearing Moonflower as a teenager, but never seen him in the flesh.

Thank you for that observation. My one memory of the Rolling Stones concert was a young Spanish man stood in front of me. It would seem the only words he knew of the Stones lyrics were satisfaction. Every record that Mick Jagger sung he shouted satisfaction over and over again. It was great to see him enjoying himself so much
