if you have a tv with scart connecitons and connect sky / dvd / tdt receiver to the tv via scart it will work.

if you plug in spanish analogue tv aerial into an english tv some tvs do not work as they do not like the old analogue sound system spain uses and you may get picture but not sound...some newer tvs do have pan european setting tho and this may work.

uk tvs with inbuilt freeview digital tv tuners may work with spainish digital tv service (TDT) which is similar to the uk freeview service, but certain options (ie change sound / all channels) may not work. a seperate tdt receiver will overcome this issue.
Thanks for the advice. I think now i may bring over a spare newish TV from the Uk.

tdt receivers go from 30 to 150 euros...from many shops including carrefour and tein21 and others. i personally go for illusion boxes (about 50+euros, as i think they perform very well....i have had issues with siemens boxes (maybe i should rephrase that!), and some of the cheap lidl / carrefour boxes (i think they are called silvercrests). you can also get TDT / Sat combi units....and tdt hard disk PVRS (like a sky+ box!)
Where near Gandia can i buy an Illusion box?

I wonder why anybody even bothers with a television these days.

Here in NL I have my regular broadband internet connection. In addition to that I also pay 60 euro per year for a UK based VPN connection. With that I can watch any UK television I want, any time.

Most sporting events these days are also streamed online free of charge. Movies, etc can easily be downloaded, again free. If you don´t know how to do this just ask your children.

The television age as we know it is coming to an end.

When they can provide reasonably priced broadband quality internet to deep campo-land I'll tend to believe in level playing fields!

ps anyone with a Sky set-up I'm somewhat desperate for answers to a question on the thread about sky playing up.... sorry to mention it in here, hope it's not against some rule but we've a bit of a crisis going on chez moi!

Not so sure about the link you have provided. A google search seems to indicate that it promises a lot more than it delivers.

Anyway, if you can have all UK TV for 5 euro a month and any movie or live sport you want is free, why would you want to pay for such a service?

I've been using it for a month now, and it delivers everything its promised for me. I'm not sure it will continue to be free to use for that long tbh, but at the moment it's certainly the best site I've found, and excellent quality

Has anyone checked how much bandwidth it uses yet? That could become an issue for some of us if we go over our monthly limits!!

keep an eye out for which ports the program opens up, for its conenctions tot he internet. domeone on another forum post that he suddently found 50 ports opened up / excluded from the firewall after he installed filmon....

a regular scan with AV and Spyware may be in order....if it is popular other poeple will try to exploit it....

PS ESPN America (american sports etwork) has been added to one of the sky digital mixes, in light of the issues with setanta....
