The Telefonica shop in Torrevieja is in CALLE RAYMON GALLUD, near the main Church Square in town.

treskillard, I should have added there are 2 Telefonica shops on Ramond Gallud, the one your dad needs is the one on a corner, walk all the way round to the back of the shop & there you will find Pillar.
With your back to the Church turn left & along there you will find the shop.
Pillar is very helpfull also tell your dad to take his phone bill with him.

Fully agree, we used it, but then went to a telefonica dial up package with unlimited access, but it did cost 20+ Euros a month. If he uses the internet regularly, then ADSL would be best, particularly as you get free phone calls to landlines in Spain.

Hi,
His phone line is back! The information on the gonuts4free pages worked fine and he is online now and much surprised. It claims that it's a local call charge? Anyone vouch for that? Thanks for all the advice. I'll try and get him to go for broadband but it is an uphill struggle. He's an outdoors type!

Local call charge.. and it's the same charge for upto a certain length of time, at least it was when we were with them. Can't remember the time, but it was the same for x number of minutes every time you dialed up, so it's not wirth just logging on for e mails then logging off as you could stay on for about 20 mins. for the same charge, once you log off and on again it's another charge.
