DAB radio

I have been given a DAB/FM radio as a present and would like to take it to our appt on EN. However, I am unsure as to whether DAB connectivity is available in the Alicante region. Can anyone please offer any advice. Many thanks if you can.

If you want to listen to any radio station anywhere in the world, then you need an internet radio, or a device that 'streams' which is the jargon used!
We have 2 in our house, both Roberts. I listen regularly to Radio 4, clear as a bell.
I'd recommend one like the Roberts 93i which you'll find on Amazon.co.uk. Prices in Spain might vary, but I've often found that for such things they are more expensive here & secondly their prices seem fixed everywhere! The only good thing about buying one here is that you have easier access to comeback if anything goes wrong.

As far as I'm aware, there is no DAB radio in Spain at all.

The easiest way to get Internet Radio is via an Amazon Echo device. I have had two “proper†Internet radios and the Echo devices are ideal.
DAB radio used to be available in Spain, but almost all of the transmitters have been discontinued. I believe some vestige of it remain in Madrid and Barcelona. As far as getting UK stations is concerned, that would be impossible even if DAB radio was available.

If you have an old smartphone kicking about you can use it to stream radio, just pick up a set of speakers for it, plug in or blu tooth and your up and running for under €10 (works fine with an old laptop or tablet too). I'm a radio ham and love radios of all kinds but to be honest there is no real need for you to spend good money on a stand alone radio when a phone and a set of speakers does the job.

I had a very good Roberts digital radio. which would not identify any digital signals. I contacted Roberts and was told " There are two different bands for digital radio one of which is used in the UK and the other is used in Spain which is why your radio will not receive any signals in Spain. Roberts do make a dual band digital radio which you will be able to use in both countries." I found one which would cost around £100 plus shipping, but that was about a year ago. Digital T.V.'s will pick up digital radio stations as well as digital T.V.. But if you are wanting uk stations , as others have said you need internet radio, from any internet source.

If you've got an IPTV box you'll generally find it will get just about any radio station you might want to listen to, but mine for instance lists nearly 100.
Downside is of couras is that you'll need to listen through the TV.

Thanks for all replies and advice. I have managed to exchange the DAB/FM radio for a very good FM only radio which allows very fine tuning. In our area the slightest change in frequency means that the station we are listening to changes to another station.
