Was it a tough tactical manovere keeping the yacht at that angle, or did they just have all the fatties sitting on the starboard side? Either way, very skillfull... |

Blonde Concordia rep's underwear discovered in suitcase recovered from Captain Coward's room
'I was in love,' 24-year-old Moldovan tells prosecutors as she is quizzed for five hours She admits she was on the bridge as married Schettino's guest at time of crash By Nick Pisa Last updated at 8:21 PM on 2nd February 2012 Comments (41) Share A cruise ship rep who was on the bridge of the doomed liner Concordia has told prosecutors she was 'in love' with the ship's captain and found him 'charming and fascinating'. Blonde Domnica Cemortan, 24, was spotted dining with cowardly skipper Francesco Schettino, 52, just minutes before the Costa Concordia slammed into rocks after he changed course so he could impress crew with a 'sail by salute'. And tonight it emerged that a case containing her underwear had been recovered from the room of the captain, whose wife has insisted she will stand by the most unpopular man in Italy. She was only on the bridge inspecting the Captains log! Sounds perfectly innocent to me. |

Brilliant. So one captain does everything properly in regard to the evacuation of passengers but no mention is made of WHY that evacuation was even necessary. What the hell was another ship doing so close to shore?
Another blonde on the bridge perhaps ? On second thoughts, weren't Barca on TV that night ? I believe something similar was the cause of a Greek ferry disaster. |
Re: Cruise ship on the rocks
I had a lovely conversation with a little old lady who has booked to go on her first cruise.
She told me that she is very worried about having to abandon ship, and with the disaser of the Corcordia still in the news, it makes her nervous. After telling her that the chances of getting a captain who is not up to the job is very unlikely. She said that was not the problem, she needs to know if you have to take dentures out before abandoning ship like you do on a plane, she does not want to be rescued without her gnashers.:D and would rather drown, is what she told me. |

All the fast motorboats coming out of Ibiza zoom through there at 30kts or more. I'm not condoning the skippers action in hitting a rock but it's a very different scenario to the one in Italy which was completely avoidable. |

It's a very narrow channel full of rocks. I have sailed through it a number of times.
