One of the best places in the UK for tyres (IMO) that will be fitted while you shop.
The only shop that employs a designer with brains who actually drives as they lay out the car park on a herring bone system with bigger spaces than most.
Lots of made in the USA products that last really well, still have stuff we bought over 10 years ago in the UK from Costco, hope they open one in Valencia.

We have never been to a Costco; I presume one can go in and look around without paying membership up-front?

Members are allowed to take 2 guests but as you have to show your membership card at the door I assume you have to ask to look around if you are not a member and you would not be allowed to purchase anything unless you joined.

Apart from that I have nowhere left to store all the damned stuff when my lad lands back from Costco with a whole van-load.
The key word here is 'share'

Thanks for the info Mike. I can understand not being able to buy anything without a membership card but I would like to see whether they are selling much of what I want to buy before shelling out 30€ for the card. It's a bit of a drive to then be turned away at the door.

In UK if you fulfill the membership criteria they will issue you a day pass to have a browse and I think you can also make a purchase on that but not sure. I remember when they opened the MK store they did a big joining event with a marquee in the car park and guided tours of the store for about a week. We were already members at Watford so did not attend the opening event.

Thanks for that John, wasn't quite sure what you did as an individual as Mike got a 3mth trial m/ship through work and then signed up after that and it must have been mid to late 90's so quite a while ago. Also as you say you have to fulfill the m/ship criteria (ie type of job you do/did) to start with.

I think you can tell the guy at the door that you are going in to speak to the membership desk... then just stroll into the shop going backwards through the tills, take a look around and then go to the desk to finalise the membership, if you want it.

Alternatively join up in the UK... and do the same thing.

Got our first Costco Spain receipt yesterday at the end of holiday trip that took in Jerez, Cadiz, Cabo de Roche, Malaga, Lake Vinuela and finally Costco Sevilla. It is not easy to find first time since the area is so new the address does not appear on Apple Maps, google maps or my Sat Nav but having been once it is dead easy. The marker that is there is the Hilton Garden Inn Sevilla brand new but on the maps. It is just to the north of the hotel in the crook of the A-8009 and the Ronda Supernorte. So if you follow the old route to the airport and Cordoba you come to the R/about which was a real pain as they took years to finish a high level bridge over. All finished now and as you emerge from the R/about there is Costco facing you. You will probably need to take the third or fourth exit from the island then run alongside Costco before you enter the Poligono then follow your nose to find the entrance to the car park. There is an underground park with huge lifts so the car is cool when you get back to it but if you can take the heat then there is a surface car park between the store and the Ronda.

It was just like walking into the Costco in MK but bigger, prices much the same some a bit up some a bit down. As you would expect wines and some beers are very cheap with a wide selection of Spanish and non Spanish. The usual fortnightly offer coupons are handed out at the door and I picked up three so any one planing a trip soon ask and you can have a pre look. They also have a website but don't know if it is like UK and you can order online for home delivery.

I forgot to mention that right outside the front door is a brand new large McyDs but why you would want that heaven knows Costco have their own fast food outlet inside with prices so cheap you don't believe they can buy the ingredients for the price. Next door is the biggest Brico I have seen and the direction signs for that all the way back to the A49 will lead you to Costco's door.

Ooh, I remember now the children's birthday party cakes from Costco. I wonder if they still do them, and to the same recipe? Somehow "cake" in España is missing the magic "e".
