The Costa 'is it raining there' thread....

It would be very useful for me and probably loads of other campesinos who can't look out of the window & see the med, to know what the weather's like on the costas... in case we want to avoid the misty moisty murk in the montes, if you get my drift.

What's it like on the Costa del Sol at the moment?

Brill thanks jdr; brilliant idea rachelk except it's very poor quality - looked at paseo anonio banderas & it might as well be a kids lego building; may very well be wet & grey but that would be guesswork!
Will have to rely on jdr & others & I hope this might be a useful thread for others too, as I said!
Going to the local bar to play pool:rofl:

Sleeting and freezing, dark and murky up here on the southern face of the Sierra Nevada. It was snowing an hour ago.:(

That in itself tells you all you need to know fionamw. Usually the quality is good,
the fact that it's not is down to the rain (and sometimes sand) on the lens.

Here in Chiclana on the Costa de Luz it has been miserable with heavy rain. We have lakes where there have never been lakes before, and it isn´t forecast to get any better.

I got really excited the other day as the temperature got to 16 degrees, the sun was shining and I swear I could smell Spring/Summer! Everyone was outside, drinking coffee in the cafes, kids out on their bikes, and I thought I'd miss not going into BE as much, and posting to my friends in F ace book. Oh how I was so wrong!

This is the coldest/wettest in many years. I swear I was sitting drinking a beer in one of the beachside bars in El Palo, east of Malaga last christmas. There were people on the beach and my very white skin got a touch burnt!

So right JDR.

I have a weather station here which records the weather minute by minute. This winter is really the worst we have had here in the last 10 years - by a big factor. Today it has never stopped raining and the temp has only reached 10c. What is unusual about this winter is that it started in November and shows no sign of improving yet.

I cannot believe how much wood we have burned not to mention the last electric bill which was €340.

We are lucky enough to qualify for the WFA but, believe me, we have already used it twofold!

As for the recent press reports about trying to stop payment of the WFA I think that is never going to happen as the UK government had a big battle with the EU over this and eventually had to give in - the only bit they won was that you can only "export" the allowance - ie if you never got it in the UK you can't have it.

Must go now - I need to put another log on the fire:)

I left before I was 60 when you can claim it.
When I was 60 I filled out the forms on line and got two letters back from different offices, one said I couldnt have it and one said they had paid the money into the bank.
I thought I was sorted, but only got one payment. ;-(

Costa Blanca and it's been freezing and raining all day. However...we are not having it anywhere near as bad as the Uk so can't complain. Just as an example of the temperature, I have been wearing a tshirt under a jumper with a body warmer, leather coat, scarf and gloves with jeans and boots. Yet in the summer I just want to walk around naked....but can't 'cos I would frighten the neighbours
