This however is a very worrying development. i have asked, through Jorge Iquacel, what the current status is and the answer from Rodrigo of Aymerich was 'The Golf Course is not closed but until October when the golf season will start the maintenance of the Golf Course will be on a minimum level, in October they will restart with the full maintenance of it.'
Don't really buy that answer to be honest as it sounds unplayable. If anyone does find out anything it would be really good to know before signing the deeds. Also has Jags reopened yet? |

I asked in the pro shop about the course and was told, what others have been told before, it's closed for a couple of weeks!! Things would be so much better and rumours would stop if Aymerich made a definitive statement - e.g. definitely closed until the season starts. I guess that isn't going to happen though. Clearly watering and cutting greens is a positive sign so all we can do is hope. If only that b****y hotel was completed, the whole place would come alive with golf packages being offered. Take a look at the likes of El Rompido during the season and it is packed with golfers from UK, Scandinavia etc. We just have to be patient folks.

I would have thought the major cost was the water followed by green and then tee maintenance. There is no putting away at the end of the day (the flags stay out all week) or marshalling. So the major costs are met anyway. I do know that a lot of people talk about the difficulty of the east course and how many balls you need to play a round but there are others who very much like to play it. Maybe it is genuine when Aymerich say they want the fairways to have time to catch up to the quality of the west course so are keeping the numbers down for a while.
The flag positions needs changing 'DAILY'. The fairways will not 'CATCH UP' on their own. They need to be watered and maintained 'DAILY' they are not natural. They will need re seeding that will take 18 months at the least. You have already read that someone has observed fairways like straw [that means dead] tees and bunkers taken over by invasive weeds. That is not resting a 'Golf Course' its neglect! |

I bow ( very low) to your obviously much superior knowledge.
There has never been a time that Costa Esuri needed you to take up golf more than it does today and still you haven't. Yet you have so much to say. Why did you build on a golf course when you know nothing about golf? |

If it is possible that Golf1 is significantly more popular then that puts pressure on Aymerich to decide whether or not to keep Golf2 going. BTW We discovered a 2000BC prehistoric burial ground there, and one of the graves were excavated by archeologists and a sign in English/Spanish explaining it, fenced off but 2 unlocked gates for us to see it. Re: Costa Esuri Golf
Most golf courses I know on the CDS generally do more work on the course in summer as it is the least busy time. I would imagine that Aymerich are not receiving enough money from Fadesa and that is why they are only doing the minimum. They are very successful company and run a tight ship.

Its really naive to expect that everybody who buys here does it for golf. Frankly rather adolescent to take it further and actually have the rudeness to criticize owners for not playing golf! In fact the very reason that many non-golfers buy in CE is telling. We did it for all the other benefits of the area - which is an excellent sign. Golfers get the 'extra treat' of playing, in addition to all that. I wont go into the reasons why a development needs to have a range of benefits to attract all sorts of customers - as I think most of us 'grandmothers' understand that, and I don't want to teach you to 'suck eggs' :D  A 100% golf-only resort would never have gotten off the ground for simple/obvious business reasons. |
