Passed through "Beautiful" Isla Cristina yesterday and noticed that the Reto there is also open again. Just when you come in on your left next to the Ford garage.

Am new to forum but wondering if anyone could help?
I have some new patio furniture and a few other bits that i need to get to Ayamonte , not wanting to drive it ourselves.
Does anyone have any info/experience of delivery services from UK to Ayamonte ?
Was driving to Faro airport last week and over took van with uk plates that seemed to be advertising such a service, unfortunately didn't get details !

Thanks

Does anybody have experience with mobile phone tariffs?

I have been advised to buy a Spanish pay as you go SIM card to call the UK, instead of my UK contact phone with Orange.

can't see how it would save money?

Regards

Ray

Ray,

I am not an expert but I understand that as Costa Esuri is so close to Portugal you would have to make sure that your Spanish PAYG SIM was not set to allow International Roaming. When I use my UK 'phone at Costa Esuri it often connects via a Portuguese network.

A Spanish SIM on a Portuguese network would probably attract higher roaming rates.

John.

Hi Ray and Pauline

We had a Spanish Vodaphone SIM card that we got on the internet. We put in our daughter's old handset and hey presto we had a Spanish phone which was invaluable when we over in Spain and phoning around to get things done to our house, as it was much cheaper to use a local phone than our English O2. We used to go into the Vodaphone shop in Ayamonte and buy some credit whenever we were over. The only drawback was that the credit "vanished" if the phone was not used. When I remembered I used to switch it on in the UK and just dial the home landline once a week and that used to keep it active but I often forgot and we wasted quite a bit of credit. I'm not sure how it would save you money calling the UK especially now the roaming charges have gone.

Spanish Vodafone credit does not vanish, it should get reactivated when you recharge otherwise you would lose your sim number.
Don`t forget to get your sim registered soon or it will be shut off in Spain in an anti terrorist campaign to make sure all phone users are known to the police.
