Good old RyanAir chairman Michael O'Leary has announced on BBC Breakfast show this morning that they are seriously considering charging £1 to use the toilet on a plane... saying that people are happy to pay to use a toilet on a railway station.. so why not on a plane!
I can see us all holding the door open for each other!
They recently cancelled my booked flights from Stansted to Sevilla .. so I had to rebook... and this cost me £50.00 more... just another way of screwing the punters for more money. They have also started to charge £4.00 per person for the use of a 'debit' card... Why do we continue to use them?
Next time I will be looking at EasyJet into Faro...

We stopped using Ryanair to Seville some time ago. While the headline price always seemed cheaper than Easyjet to Faro, in practice there was never much in it when you looked at the total cost. In addition, it is more covenient driving from Faro, and the flight times are preferable. Might give the new Stansted to faro route a try, but am not encouraged to make it a priority.

In the end O'leary is right it boils down to price, and often they are the cheapest. But customer service and problem handling is virtually non-existent as a result we'll pay a fair amount more to go with an alternative. But if we can find 'super cheap deals' we will take Ryanair .. but have no customer loyalty to them... as they have none for us.
We recently got tickets at 10 euros each taxes included each way... which when you add all those charges and it becomes about 100 Euros - i.e 50 each return all in. At that price we would go Ryanair.. But these are rare and the normal prices are higher and with the uplift we're prepared to pay we will be using other carriers more...

I posted about this last year, the toilet charge.
You know now from this mornings interview that the rumour is surely going to be reality. I always have a sour taste in my mouth after going through the Ryanair booking process and we have decided that it is worth paying extra to use someone else and also for us not go through the local airport they use... which is out in the sticks.

The toilet charge is a a superb idea, I think they should put a timer on it, a-pay-per-second charge or something along that ! Much like the Seville parking garages where you pay 0.03 cent per minute.
and obviously you will have to buy toilet paper on board as well as there is none in the toilets...

OH NO thats the next step - paying for the loo roll once youve paid to go in!! Then there will be a 'light charge', for having an illuiminated toilet, and of course washing facility charge.... And then there is the charge to GET OUT of the toilet at the end.

Oh yes just remembered. think how much fun flying will be now - we can while away the time and listen to other peoples cellphone conversations as well.... (free for the moment to listen...) but only about 150p a minute to make the call.

I'm surprised that they have not stopped any food or drink 'not bought on the premises' from being consumer on board!
