Newport Shropshire is a bit smaller but a lovely little place.
Also Fort please don't belittle my comments, you have given some excellent information which I thank you for, you are obviously an intelligent person but those sort of responses are not necessary and are rather snide. In our village we use our local shops...and the pubs and this trade does keep them open. It doesn't stop people using the large supermarkets as well but all I was trying to say is that we appreciate the fact that a business has opened on CE and to encourage all owners and visitors to support it. We have no regrets about our purchase and are under no illusions about it either. Mel |

Andy you can hire bikes down in Isla Canela Marina Jurs shop (he has the big Rib which would be a big adventure if he is taking it out). There used to be somewhere in Rago 2 but not sure if it is still there saw an ad in the oracle a while back. There's the water park and Kart track on the way to El Portil from Cartaya.

Hi Forteleza. I disagree there is "all this talk" , in fact recently you seem to have made it your goal to bring this up, and keep reminding us that we are all somehow immature to believe this stuff.
For a long time people have known that there are major issues with airports, marinas, cc etc etc, and have worked around it. I havent met anybody that feels that all this is a reality. Sure a few years ago people got the big sell but we arent that stupid, to believe that this will all come true today. Weve known there are issues for a long time. I remember even in the good old days I posted to say that we would never become a La Manga, in my opinion. I think it is fine to remain confident that in the long term these issues will be resolved and the builders and cranes will go .... what we end up exactly is anybodies guess, but I say again that we are having a blast today just as it is and believe that it can only get better, over time. We are in it for the long term. I havent seen scores of people living in a dream world expecting all the old sales pitch stuff to come true. Most people Ive met and the posts Ive seen have been far more measured than you imply/state. For some reason all this has gotten under your skin and it seems to bug you a lot, as does receiving anything that seems like a criticism to you.. whilst you are not shy of offerring it out. I have no real issues with you, and in fact have supported you recently with e.g the quality of the information you can give and saying that e.g the Oracle isnt a tool for us to use to further peoples issues - however tricky the issues are. I just have an impression that you really think we are misguided (were not) and also that you have become too sensitive.... Regards Jon |

Are you a golfer? When we went out to Riu Canella 8 years ago it was buzzing with golfers, so much so we ALWAYS had to make a fourball even on Isla Canella! By this we met some lovely people, many of whom we are still in contact with. Now at the same time of year. We walk into the 'Pro Shop' and can choose any time we want. The only way we ever play a fourball is if we catch up with the 2 in front and agree to proceed as a four. I fear there actually is a less healthy demand for golf than baked beans.

Hi Jon thought you might like to know how true your words "we are having a blast today just as it is" are. At approx. 5am this morning a neighbours delivery van blew up. The local police, Guardia Civil and 2 fire engines turned up but unfortunatly there was little hope of saving it.
we did have a freids renunion in June/July we have known each other for over 40 years, so we had also a 'blast from the past'... :) |

Why is a Hotel so important to you folks then:confused: Last thing I would count as a priority to an Urbanisation! All these new developments promise a Hotel They do that to get the plans past the Junta, 99%never get built but does it matter?
The unfortunate part is the location, it is right at the entrance to the urbanisation alongside the golf clubhouse, so you have this skeletal building staring at the main R/about towering 4 stories above the modern clubhouse. There are 2 other hotel parcels but they are away at the top back of the site and no start has been made so they are not a problem. The last similar situation to this in Ayamonte was at Isla Canela where a 5* hotel designated for Iberostar stood in this state for about 4 years before work recommenced and completion took place for another chain operator who opened it early this summer as a 4* Spa hotel. It is in everybodies interest that another operator comes forward to complete and open the hotel hopefully for summer 2010. </IMG> |

Don't know about price comparison but there are some great little shops over in VRSto who seem to sell eveything in that line. They are in the pedestrianised street leading inland away from the main square.
