Hi All,
I have just read this extract from the latest ADA Newsletter:
The Chairs of the following Bloques/Portales have commissioned the installation of a TDT (Digital TV) multi-switch in their Bloque/Portales. These have already been adapted to receive the Digital Terrestrial signal. These are: (1-2)(3-1)(5-2)(5- 3)(6-1)(6-2)(7-1)(7-2)(9-1)(9-2)(10-1)(10-2)(10-3)(8-1)(8-2)(8-3)
My Bloque/Portal is on the list. I am unsure of the implications of this. What else if anything, do I now need to do to connect my TV to get digital terrestrial Signals ? At present my TV is connected to the wall outlet by a standard co-ax TV-Aerial lead. What extra channels am I likely to get, apart from the 8 or so Spanish/Portuguese channels I already receive ? Am I right in thinking I still need to get connected to the Satellite Dish on the Apartment roof, and install a digibox to get UK channels ?
Regards

Hi, can anyone on Rago 1 tell me the make of thier boiler, I need to download some instructions but can't remember the make. I am sure it began with an "A"?? Also does anyone know of someone who can service the boilers?
Thanks in advance...

If this is not enough, then perhaps this link is worth a try:
http://www.gotoplumbing.co.uk/accoun...146&accid=2734
Aspes and Fagor (the make of the hob/oven (I think) in the kitchen) are the same. However, I am not certain about Rago I specifications, so please keep this in mind.

It is an offence for Fadesa not to leave instructions with the boiler.

Hola jdr,
Fadesa does include the instructions and guarantee in the pack handed over with the keys. Ask again at the shed.
Hola Mel,
ah, so there is a tech department? Just to make things that bit more technical, I think the rep speaks Portuguese only (yeah, that'll be right...) So, perhaps there will be more shoulder shrugging, and head scratching.
Remember, Mel, you are now no longer the "pupil", but the "head of the department", and Grace's planning timetable has fallen short of your expectations! Go get your window!

Hi Carol
We have been pleased with the snags that Fadesa have attended to since our purchase May 06 however there are 2 outstanding...( I'll be lucky) a representative from the Tech Dept to come to the house and view the damaged window frame. I like Grace and I think she has a difficult job but, although I am many years older than her, she does un-nerve me. It's that piercing gaze over the top of her glasses which reminds me of my old chemistry teacher who terrified us all at school...

Hi Mel
We have been using Zit for 2 years with no problems. We book on the internet so have some paperwork, pay cash on arrival, in euros, dont have an excess so when we return the car, they jump in, check the fuel and off we go, it takes 2 mins. Once the car wouldn't start when we were at our apartment so we rang and they would have been there within 1.30hrs (they said) I felt this was a good sign. As it happened the car started and we had no more problems from it. I definately recommend them.

Hi Sharon
Thanks for that info.
Quite a few seem to use Economy but I have compared their prices with Zitauto and Zit are much more reasonable priced. I have just spoken to them (Dove House Travel 0121 705 7425) and you can travel in Spain and Portugal at no extra cost. If you put a compass point in Faro and the other point in Sevilla that is the extent of the "circle" you can travel to in both countries. We are booking two cars and all driver can drive either car at no extra cost. also pay in sterling with a CC in advance. All sounds good but no-one seems to recommend them...am I missing something ?

You pay a tad more - but I think this insurance element makes it worthwhile.
I've made a lot of bookings this year, and only recently (through the forum) found about about
www.insurance4carhire.com they do a one off insurance that covers you for these 'hidden extras'. 49UK Europe wide for a year 59UK if you include USA. Multiple voyages each year with a 31 day max per voyage (I think) A great idea for me. But they are havent responded yet to questions I emailed them about last week
For your information here is what I emailed them below:
Once I get an answer I will post the info..
Regards
Jon
Here is the mail they have not yet responding to:
I am interested in your insurance for Car Rental in Europe to cover any damages etc.
Please can you answer the following questions specifically:
- I am required to take the 'standard cover' offered by the car rental people?
- Can I reject any insurance offered by the renter and still be covered?.
- I live in Belgium (UK citizen) can I buy this please? I see on the web form that I can put in Belgium as country of residence for example so I assume all is OK
- If I rent with my wife as secondary driver, are we still covered please?
