Default Constitution for new association

Hi
Just wondered if anyone is or has been involved with setting up an association here in spain, we need to write a constitution in English and Spanish and it would save an awful lot of effort if someone was able to share theirs with us.

People on this forum seem to be able to help with most things so any guidance would be gratefully received.

Free beer thread.... HERE you may find info, I think it has to be approved by a solicitor and parts can only be changed by majority vote at the AGM.

Thanks for the link, we are not setting up that type of association it is something more akin to a social organisation. It is not fully formed yet but will seek to act a conduit between the local authority and english speakers who live in the area but may also organise social and cultural events.
It is all very much a work in progress.

Have a chat with the local authority first then, they will probably give you guidance of what they would like , you don`t want to upset them before you start.

It was actually the local authority that suggested it be set up! They want to make it easier for themselves to communicate to the growing expat population here. They have asked us to write the constitution, which is why I was hoping that someone may have already been down this road.

I think they may have a department that can help but I will have to find a spanish speaker to go along to find out.

If only my spanish was better than life would be so much easier

Now don't hold me to this but I think we have just done one of these in the office and I am sure that it has to be sent off and registered somewhere. I do know that a Notary is not involved in this. If you would like to e-mail me privately I can give you the name of the firm where I work and you can give them a call if you wish or possibly e-mail them. All first interviews are free.

If I remember rightly it has to be in Spanish and English and obviously the Spanish one is the one that is registered!

P.S. Mind you I think we are miles away from you but could probably point you in the right direction

Hi Yvonne, maybe Alicia to go with you, I know she's busy, but she may be able to make herself available. Have you asked Templecambria about his partner, she speaks fluent Spanish and may be able to help?
