Computer expert needed
 
I am getting an error message when I switch on my pc, it appears that I am missing a component.....MSCTF.dll :confused: I can't even use system restore - it's stopped working :unsure: I googled MSCTF.dll and there is a site.....Uniblue Registry Booster which seems to have all the answers but I'm not sure, has anyone heard of it. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Back up your stuff via safe mode if necessary, then format and reinstall Windows. Anything else is just plastering over the cracks!

:unsure: that sounds scary....I am hesitant to go into safe mode, will I lose anything if I reinstall windows :unsure:

You can repair a windows installation without a full reinstall.

Thanks to Tim talking me through it on msn yesterday I got rid of a lot of nasty spies which had crept into the system but still getting the error message :( Still....at least it is working faster now and hopefully someone may come up with a solution :)

As I told you in my previous post the ONLY way to get ride of the registry error message permanently is to reinstall Windows. Anything else is just a quickfix which is not going to stabilise it on a longterm basis. Total waste of time!
You need to backup all your personal data NOW before Windows falls over completely.

Thanks Pete, I'll look into that. Going out now so will try and work out how to do that when I get back. Thanks for your input :thumbup:
