Default communidad/proxy voting

hi everyone, just joined the site and wish i had done so earlier.
My question is, under spanish law are home owners allowed to continuously vote under proxy year after year ? The reason for this request is that our community president continues to represent and act as she so wishes with the knowledge that she has enough votes (including proxy votes). Persons present in the meetings year after year by volume out vote her but the proxy votes fall in her favour. is there anyway proxy votes can be reduced over a period of time due to non attendance ? any help would be much appreciated
thanks in advance

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Dont actually know the answer but wondering if asking a Gestor would help, would think they would know the answer and at low if any cost.

The proxy votes have to be unique to each AGM/EGM. The meeting call should have a proxy form which needs to be signed by the owner and returned/presented at the meeting. As an owner you can ask to see each of the proxy votes. An owner does not have to attend the meeting but can be represented, their proxy votes cannot be discounted just because they don't attend. Owners in arrears with community fees cannot vote in person or by proxy but they can attend, speak at the meeting or be represented.

thanks for you comments. i therefore take it that someone can vote proxy year after year without having any say whatever. the lesser numbers at our community meetings means the full time residents suffer the most, the absentees dont care and the communidad does what it wants. fantastic life this is. will keep going though, british steel. lol
