Question Commercial van

Can anyone suggest where afriend of mine can sell his UK van (in Spain).

I suggested he went to a dealer near Benidorm, Marbella etc. to see if they would consider a part exchange. The problem there is that I don't know of any.

Can any one assist him?

U K commercial vehicles cannot be re registered in Spain so are virtually worthless, if he permanently took it out of UK without telling the DVLA he could have a problem there too if he takes it back to try and sell it.

Stick an ad in the English press in Southern Spain. Bound to be someone looking to return to the UK with a van load of junk.

I agree JDR but there are some companies on the coast that do offer this service.

For example, if someone is moving back, it may be cheaper to buy a van and drive back than to have someone else do it at many times the price.

As long as it`s still legal and tax paid etc, or it might get crushed in UK then it won`t be so cheap.

Yep, its worthless here but if its worth more than a £1500 in the UK he may as well drive it back and sell it ,if its got no MOT no problem so long as you have one booked as you get off the ferry, he will of course need insurance thats recognised by the UK police! some of the UK car insurance sold in Spain would not be recognised in the UK as its supposedly valid even if you have no UK road tax or MOT,

If its an old banger sell it to a desguaces (breakers/scrapyard)

Rgds
