I'm sulking now. We're going to Sevilla for a few days next week and the forecast is showing rain for at least the first two days - I'd do better staying at home! Hope it changes before then.:thumbdown:

On a whim I bought a BIG pressure cooker off ebay. Came from the States, second hand and the postage cost more than the canner. Its really good for 'canning' in Kilner type jars all sorts of stuff from fruit to curry, no worries if the freezer packs up but more importantly its been great fun to play with. Look up home pressure canning, its very popular in America and was always impressed by the home canned stuff I tried over there in the past and I'm surprised its not more popular in the UK.

I heat seal all my jams and some chilli too.

There was quite a hoo-ha in the UK a while back when Kilner (I think; open to correction!) sold out to someone else and there was fear the sacred jars would no longer be available. I don't like the French alternative, have to say up front! So there was an underground movement buying up all the old ones and lids, screw thingies and so on. Me included. I think they are now available new again, have been for some while! Ho hum again.

Wasn't it Jeremy Clarksons family (Top gear) who made the Kilner jars:unsure:

They're easy enough to get, I got 24 off eBay delivered for £22, screw top which I thought a good price.

Well here in England it is quite 'nippy' during the evening but the days are still mild. Had some rain (well a little bit :D) and had to wear a coat during the day a couple of times. But today it was warm and even though I went out in a coat I had to take it off as it was so warm  Very unusual for this time of year in England but I'm not complaining :D

Finally had a nice day here in not so sunny Spain.
Must say I found this last spell of weather here more depressing than anything I've encountered in the UK during the past two years.
The rain was quite pissistant though not as heavy as in many places which have suffered bad floods. There was a constant cool breeze, sometimes wind with it and it just felt like it was gong right through the bones most of the time.

Where are you? We've had a pleasant few days here, but there is a bit of rain forecast in the next couple of days. No great shame, as by then I'll have finished planting most of the strawberries.

It was 20c here today, I went out with a cardigan on but ended up taking it off because I was too warm.
We also sat outside drinking coffee (1.20€) in the square in Alora, a nice way to spend a November morning.
