List 3 changes you'd like to see in an ideal world that would improve Spain (even if it's unlikely to happen)...

For me:

a) Stricter control on buildings and house sales, especially near the coast.

b) Good tea-shops with cakes, puddings and custard!

c) Less street crime in the big cities particularly pick-pockets and muggings.

You can't get better transport links between two cities not that far apart. than trains, buses and planes, all of them several times a day.

Moaning Brits are mostly back in the UK, still moaning.

British cowboy builders? I haven't seen any around recently, nor any other builders.

It would be my wish too - the links between Alicante and Valencia, given that the train line stops at Gandia.

1, that the missus went to Austrailia,

2, that she only had a one way ticket

3, and that she took her whole sodding family with her, (well, most of them anyway)

No chance of that for the next few days, she is visiting her family in Galicia.

Surely you haven´t got more than three! I don´t believe it. :) Thinking about the Brits whingeing about whingeing Brits, I always have to smile when I read about people wanting to live where there are no Brits, as if they are something different to all the others.:)

Spain (Asturias) would be perfect if :

1) I had a job and earn us a few bob extra

2) Was a bit more choice in food...a marks and spencer would be great...yummy

3) A bookstore selling cheap english books....

In case it's of interest to anyone else, these people advertise that they're cheaper than Amazon and they do free delivery anywhere. Like play.com but I think cheaper.

Very interesting clip, and I was quite impressed, I thought they were doing great with the language, considering the short time they had been in Galicia.

I think there are some folks here who would be happy if you would give them a few pointers in English.................Have a look agoreira and see if you can help.................

My ex Spanish teacher has bought a house somewhere in the wilds of Galicia, I think he'd get on well with those people, he lives that sort of life. He has a shed full of woodworking tools, lathes etc, makes his own furniture, is happy to lead a very simple life He could also teach them Spanish, he has an excellent level of Spanish and is a great teacher. Well, not that great, he failed with me!:)

Cleaner streets (especially for dog owners to pick up after their pets)

Car owners to stop parking on pavements and pedestrian crossings

To be able to buy any decent clothes that aren't made of nasty man made fibres, decorated with diamante/sequins, frilly, flouncy, in garish colours (often all in the same garment)

Not much of an incentive here for drivers that like to park where they like. Just reading this morning, things like parking in bus lanes without lights, on bends etc, will no longer mean points on your licence, just a fine! And you can't lose points for driving negligently.

The only way it could get better for us over here is if my family and friends were here, and being able to speak the language would help a lot but we're doing allright really.
