We bought a 42 in plasma from Carrefour, went black after 22 months, couldn`t repair it so gave us a new one with another 2 yr warranty.

I'd have to get the details first, as I have not visited him yet, so not exactly sure where it is! One of my friends that used to attend his classes did visit him, and he said it is in a very rural, isolated spot! :) He's actually a chemical engineer and he has been working in Russia and Algeria, but I think he has finished there now.

Excellent find! Thx for sharing that episode. Interesting that quite a few Brits seem to be heading for Galicia (it seems to get more Brits than Asturias and Cantabria put together). Surprised that one of the interviewees says he misses fish n chips, I'd have thought he'd have had enough fish and seafood in Galicia! Although I suppose there may not be much in the village they're based in.

As a Gallego myself, I can tell you that although there is good sea food and fish up there. When you have an "antojo" for fish and chips with loads of salt and vinegar, nothing can beat it.
I can just smell it now.

Also you can get tired of rape in sauce too.

You were lucky! None of the other large chains do that, including Boulanger/Worten etc. All their responsibility stops a few weeks after purchase and customer services (Hah!) give you the number of the official warranty dealer...who always happens to be in Málaga and can't come for three weeks:rofl:

You're welcome! I use the TVE a la carta quite a bit to watch some Spanish TV. I have to say a lot of it is dire, but they have some very good programmes on there, especially travel and I have even watched a few episodes of "El Coro en la Cárcel". :) I think the music teacher, Javi, ¡es un crack!:)

lo que pasó? No I don´t, nor Amar en Tiempos Revueltos. I have never watched UK soaps, don´t intend to watch Spanish one´s either!:) I generally watch Paraísos Cercanos, En Noches como Ésta, Repor and Españoles en el Mundo. If you like soap type shows, plenty here, you can even watch the apprentice!

There's one just opened in Marbella, but seemingly, it's not up to much, not very big. It's actualy a franchise.

I think there've been threads on this. It's going to be on the CDS (Marbella?), so absolutely no good to manananana up there in Asturias. It'd be quicker for her to drive to the airport, get the plane to the UK and then drive to the closest M&S there.

Now I'm jealous :o I bought a garden strimmer shortly after moving here, used it for 5 mins then it stopped, took it back to carrefour trhe next day and they said that it must have been ok as I'd used it  after about 20 mins of trying to tell her it only worked for 5 mins I finaly gave up trying to flog a dead horse. I've yet to have the luck of finding customer service within Movistar, Telefonica, Vodafone & Orange......strange that as I was with Orange for years in the UK and in France.

Now you will be jealous, I bought a Black an Decker strimmer from AKI, that the drive sheered on after a couple of months.
Took it back, they wouldn`t change it as I had it too long, but gave me the number of the B + D service dept.
Phoned them up and a courier picked it up and 5 days later delivered a brand new one still sealed in a box.
Maybe you don`t look fierce enough. lol

I've taken things back to Carrefour with little problem, even when it's been my misstake and I have purchased the wrong item.

Some years ago at this time of year I required a new chain saw. At Carrefour I was going through the USED ONES on the shelves which people had returned, It appeared they were buying them, going into the woods for a weekend to stock up with winter fuel and then returning them for a full refund within the fifteen day period.
I managed to persuade the assitant that I was a genuine customer and he fetched a new one from the store room.

I've used them a few times and am v impressed, usually deliver to spain within a week of ordering.

Thank you for that link but having checked on a couple of books Amazon seem to be definitely cheaper??

I just quoted their claim, I didn't do much research - but the first thing I bought there was a school text book that was definitely a bit cheaper than amazon.

Amazon always worked out more expensive for me because I felt I had to buy several at a time to make the postage worthwhile.
