Post Certificate of good conduct

Hi.

I have lived in Spain for the past 5 years but am moving back to the UK in a month to start a teaching position. Therefore I need a Certificate of Good Conduct. I have the form filled in and have paid the application fee into the bank. I was just wondering whether this can be applied for in the local Civil Registry or will I have to go the the province capital.

I live in Almunecar and would love to be able to do it here without having to go to Granada.

Thanks

It's easy, you can check online where to go.

This page gives general info, including how to do it by post or by internet (if you have certificado digital) Certificado de Antecedentes Penales - Trámites y gestiones personales - Ministerio de Justicia

This bit tells you where the offices are to do it in person. I went in person and had it in my hand in 10 minutes. It does look as though you'll have to go to Granada.
Gerencias Territoriales - Ministerio de Justicia

You must tell them (they asked me) where I wanted to use it as if you want to use it outside of spain it needs to be stamped by another office. They will give you the address to send it to, you post it off with a return envelope and it will come back to you duly stamped.

Thank you so much for the reply. I thought as much but I just wanted to check as other people told me it was sometimes possible in local offices as well.

I think I may end up doing it via post from Spain but sent to the UK.

Thanks again

Check when you do it about the requirements for using it in the Uk.

I had to send mine off with a prepaid return envelope to the Ministerio de Justicia in Madrid with a cover note to explain what it was for. It came back about a week later - the man who processed my request and gave me the certificate expalined exactly what to do. Mine was for Chile, it might be easier within the EU.
