Cool Cb Radio

Is CB radio legal in Spain ?.....Yes, O.K., You would need to be up a high point to be effective if you wanted to operate one ! !

Yes, it is legal but you need a licence. They use the same frequencies as the old illegal ones used to use in the UK on AM so one brought from the UK would not work here unless you managed to find someone else who had brought one from the UK but those aren't legal.

You would need to be pretty fluent in Spanish.

I am considering bringing a US made CB radio over to Spain, to be used in an off road vehicle, Jeep, mainly for inter vehicle communications. Would the AM frequencies in a radio of this type be illegal in Spain. I have no idea about UK illegal channels as I have never used a radio there. TIA

A US CB is compatible as it is the same system and uses the same channels.

However, in order to be legal it must only be tunable to the standard forty channels

Why not get a uk radio license, then you can use ssb happily and talk to almost anywhere, Spain operates a reciprocal license with the UK so you would be legal in both countries.
